Knothe, went to visit old Sekukuni. (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/tree\/person\/details\/GQQ5-696\">F.J.C. Knothe<\/a> was getroud met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.familysearch.org\/tree\/person\/details\/L1SX-Z9L\">Anna Magdalena Winter<\/a>, suster van Johannes August Winter &#8211; Z\u00f6llner &amp; Heese<\/em>). They were received very kindly and invited to sleep at the kraal but refused because my mother was left alone at Hackney. Early in the morning a messenger arrived, sent by chief Kgolokoe to tell my father that Mampuru came in the night and murdered Sekukuni and burned the kraal. My father and Revd. Knothe saddled their horses and went there. They found Sekukuni lying dead with a broad assagai in his stomach. It was a strange fate that Sekukuni, who murdered so many of his people, should die such a cruel death, with an assagai in his stomach and roasted between burning huts.
